Type of course? Downland. A bit of criss-crossing, but it didn’t bother me.
Pleasant staff? I didn’t actually interact with the staff as we were there to play a Division 2 match, but the Willingdon team was very welcoming.
Best hole? There were a few I really enjoyed, but The Sleeper, which is a par 3, is as attractive as it is daunting with its barricaded green (see photo below).
Après golf? Nice clubhouse and terrace looking out towards the rather beautiful hilly surroundings.
Nice round? I played my best golf in perfect conditions against a lovely opponent, so yes, very.
Special memory? Birdie on the 18th. The icing on the cake.
Must play again? Would love to. I’m going to see if there are places left in their Open on August 17th.
