Me, overcome with joy and surprise at having hit a good drive

This is me on the day of my drive in on 4 December 2016 at Brighton and Hove Golf Club. I’d just managed to avoid taking a massive chunk out of the tee box and hit what will probably be my best drive ever in front of my golfing and non-golfing friends. So no wonder I look as if I’d won whatever major tournament it is real golfers dream of winning: I was Lady Captain and I was on cloud 9.

I decided to start this blog aimed at amateur golfers because when I looked for information and help to prepare for my duties as Captain, I was surprised to see that there wasn’t much at all out there for and by female amateur golfers. So this will be a record of my year as Captain of the small women’s section of a small golf club in Sussex. I’ll also be recording my efforts to reach my goal to drop my handicap from 17 to 12 in my Captain’s year. I’m hoping that in time, it will become a space for golfers to exchange information and advice. Please do get in touch. I’d love to know what you think.

Now that my Captaincy is over, I intend to use this blog mostly to keep track of the courses I play. I’ve really enjoyed writing my little reviews and I’m a bit of a collector!
