Type of course? Parkland.

Pleasant staff? Very nice.

Best hole? The 13th with its unusual long two-level bowl-shaped green. Sadly my approach shot rolled on to the wrong lower level and I three putted for a bogey, but it’s a great hole.

Après golf? It was the Ladies’ Open, so we were treated to a very nice two-course lunch. The pudding was spelt as “triffle” on the menu, which amused me no end for some unknown reason. One of the ladies at our table was unhappy with it (“that is NOT a trifle”), but now I think all trifles should involve pistachios, white chocolate and raspberries. Delicious.

Nice round? Yes and we came close to getting in the prizes, but my putting let me down badly. I just couldn’t work out the greens. In fact, it would be quite a straightforward course without the trippy undulating greens.

Special memory? The triffle. It really was that good.

Must play again? No.
