Type of course? Parkland. Very well looked after. Sticky grass.

Pleasant staff? I was pleased to see Matthew the pro, as he saved me last year by changing my shoe spikes in world record time so I could make my tee time. They’re still keeping me steady on the course!

Best hole? The 18th because I knew I was only a few steps away from a restorative beer. But seriously, there is no stand out hole.

Après golf? Nice range of drinks and my chauffeur had a lovely non-alcoholic beer.

Nice round? No. I never ever play well at Bognor. Why I don’t know. There’s nothing wrong about the course. One positive was my bunker escapes. Anthony’s bunker lesson has really helped.

Special memory? A member warning us on the 9th about the thieving crows on the 15th and the 16th, only for them to mount a surprise attack on the 13th! One of them got into one of our bags and stole a paper bag that once contained a pastry. Sucker.

Must play again? Yes, as this was a practice round for a foursomes match on Saturday. I feel very sorry for my partner.
