Type of course? Linksy MacLinksface from Linksville.

Pleasant staff? Very pleasant and we appreciated a young man coming around in a buggy asking if we needed anything.

Best hole? The 16th with its green on the edge of the cliff with magnificent views over the coast and St Andrews.

Après golf? We had to rush off because it was time for some culture. Boring.

Nice round? No wind, bright sunshine, the sea, St Andrews in the background and I managed to avoid all but one bunker. Idyllic.

Special memory? Seeing my very first golfboard. The hire price of £30 was a bit too steep and I like walking, but they look a lot of fun.

Must play again? When I go back to the Kingdom of Fife, there are other courses I’d love to play, particularly Crail Golfing Society.
