Type of course? The type you would find in a beautiful secret valley.

Pleasant staff? Very, particularly in the bar.

Best hole? The 17th is really impressive, as you walk on the tee box to be faced with a bank of huge elevated bunkers that you need to clear to get to a good position for the second shot. I avoided them by scooping my shot 45 degrees to the left and ending up in all sorts of trouble. But there are many great and gorgeous holes.

Après golf? Keo beer on the sunny terrace with a view onto red hills.

Nice round? Excellent. The very narrow front 9 follows the valley to the left of the stream and the back 9 takes you back to the club house along the other side of the stream. The valley is simply beautiful, flanked by steep hills and stunning rock formations. Hard to feel anything but happy, even on a bad golf day.

Special memory? Seeing a massive black snake while looking for a stray ball!

Must play again? Would love to.

Cypriot Crackett Cup – Day 2 (match play): Lost 1&0. A very close match that was stylishly won with a birdie on the 18th (Stableford score 37-36 to ME). Overall score 1-1.
